Two-track chain conveyors is made up of the upper and bottom runway. The upper runway serves for leading the driving chain. Carts on the bottom runway are driven by means of driving dogs which constitute a part of the driving chain. Each cart is composed of two undercarriages mutually coupled through a shaft led through the bearing body of the cart. The carts are hooked on and off the driving chain by means of a lever mechanism which makes a part of the cart undercarriage.

Carts are arrested in their stations by means of pneumatically controlled dogs.

The transporter may be equipped by automatic transfer switches, hoists, shifters, and other supplementary equipment.
